Natalie Kuhn studied theatre and live performance at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts before becoming a dancer for David Byrne and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. She fell in love with the ability to use movement and storytelling to affect change in groups of people.
In this episode, Natalie recounts her story and how she was introduced, serendipitously, to Taryn Toomey and The Class. Her journey began as one of the co-founding teachers and has expanded into her role as VP of Programming.
She describes the evolution and the unique emotional, physical, and mental transformational focus of this one-of-a-kind ‘spiritual fitness.’ She gives insight on what attendees can expect – how it can help us come home to ourselves as well as nurture community and how it can be a way to prime us for the challenges of life.
Natalie also shares her perspective and learnings through the challenges of 2020 as well as the company’s response to the COVID-19 health crisis and racial injustices coming to the forefront.
You have truly never had a full-body workout if you haven’t tried The Class! This is a fitness genre all its own. Maybe you’ve never thought about exercising your thoughts, emotions, voice AND all your muscles simultaneously. Hearing Natalie speak might inspire you to try it for yourself!
